One of the biggest PAN Indian films, Ponniyin Selvan part 1, was successful in amassing huge revenues. Directed by legendary Mani Ratnam, the movie now holds the record for all time highest-grossing film in Tamilnadu. The other language versions performed on a decent note.

The latest news is that this biggie has achieved a staggering feat by getting six nominations at the 16th Asian Film Awards. The production house made the news official. The movie was nominated for Best Film, Best Original Music, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, and Best Costume Design.

The movie undoubtedly has high-class technical standards, and these nominations are testimony to it. Starring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha in key roles, the movie is produced by Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions. The part 2 of this period drama is confirmed to hit the screens on 28th April 2023.
