It looks like the deadly COVID-19 is still lurking around in the country. In an unexpected update, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. The actor, whose film, Sarfira, was released in theaters worldwide earlier today, will skip the high-profile wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant today (July 12) at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai.

As per the latest reports, Akshay has been feeling unwell for the last couple of days. He has been traveling and interacting with several people for Sarfira promotions for the past few weeks. Upon returning to Mumbai, Akshay got himself tested, and the results came out positive for the novel coronavirus. The actor has isolated himself at his Mumbai residence and is taking all precautions advised by his doctors. Akshay will also skip the post-release promotions for Sarfira.

Sarfira is an official remake of Tamil star Suriya’s acclaimed drama, Soorarai Pottru. The film is directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed the original version. The film also features Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan, and Suriya in a special cameo.
