It looks like the storm created by Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, who called Prabhas’ character in the blockbuster sci-fi mythological magnum opus, Kalki 2898 AD, a “joker,” will not fizzle out anytime soon. Recently, MAA President Vishnu Manchu wrote a letter to the President of CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association) and senior Bollywood actress Poonam Dhillon, urging her to take action against Arshad Warsi for his comments on Prabhas and hurting the sentiments of his fans.

In her latest interview with a national media house, Poonam Dhillon assured that she would write to Arshad Warsi and seek his response. Poonam opined that Arshad commented about Prabhas’ character in the film and not on him as an artiste or person. Poonam further said that she would still ask Arshad to clarify and, if need be, undo the hurt that the Munnabhai MBBS actor may have caused. “We are all one industry,” said the veteran actress.

Poonam also added that Prabhas is one of the most decent, nice, and respected people in the industry, and that she is sure Arshad did not mean to hurt Prabhas as a person. It’s well known that, in a recent podcast, expressing his disappointment on Prabhas’ character in Kalki, Arshad said, “Prabhas, I am really sad. He was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. What have you guys made of it? Why do they do such things? I never understand!”

Soon after Arshad Warsi’s comments went viral, several fans and celebrities like Nani, Sudheer Babu, Sharwanand, Vishnu Manchu, Kalki director Nag Ashwin, RX 100 director Ajay Bhupathi, and others slammed Arshad Warsi for his insensitive comments.
