During the promotions of Hindustani 2 (Hindi version of Indian 2), Shankar was asked if he had plans for making sequels for his films like Shivaji, Nayak (Hindi version of Mudhalvan), and Aparichit (Hindi version of Anniyan). Shankar answered that he would do a sequel only if he found the right subject.
Shankar said, “My films will be in the common man’s point of view. If a movie connects with the whole country, it becomes a PAN-India film. Audiences want me to do Shivaji 2, Nayak 2, and Aparichit 2. Sometimes, I, too, think that I should do them. But I won’t do a sequel just for the sake of doing it. The subject should hit me. If it happens, then I will do it.”
Shankar clarified that he doesn’t have any idea of sequels at this moment. After the release of Indian 2, Shankar will completely shift his focus to Ram Charan’s political action drama Game Changer. The movie is left with 10-15 days of shoot, after which post-production works will begin.
