Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, is hitting the big screens on 12th July. The makers unveiled the theatrical trailer recently and it received a mixed response from the audience. However, Shankar fans believe the filmmaker has saved the best for the film. During a promotional interview, Shankar revealed that he once planned to make his cinematic universe.

Shankar said, “In 2008 when I was shooting Robo, the idea of the cinematic universe came to my mind. I thought of a story that involves Senapathy from Hindustani (Indian), Shivaji Rao Gaekwad from Nayak (Remake of Arjun’s Mudhuvalan), and Shivaji from Shivaji. It was just a small idea. I told to my assistant directors and asked their opinion. They were not impressed with my idea.”

Shankar added, ” Whenever I think of something, I tell it to family or friends. When they don’t respond properly, I will think it is not a good idea. After a few years, I saw Avengers. I keep telling my assistants to work on their ideas without delay. Someone else also might get the same idea.”
