Kollywood hero Sivakarthikeyan has delivered a huge blockbuster with the recently released biopic, Amaran. Also starring Sai Pallavi in a lead role, the film is inspired by Indian Army martyr Major Mukund Varadarajan’s life and heroics. Amaran has amassed a whopping Rs 244 crore till Sunday, becoming the highest grossing film in Sivakarthikeyan’s career.
Amaran is all set to enter the Rs 250 crore club today. In a stupendous feat, Sivakarthikeyan has emerged as the fourth Tamil hero to enter the elite Rs 250 crore club and join the Kollywood stalwarts like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijay. It’s worth mentioning that Sivakarthikeyan’s previous highest grosser was Don (Rs 125 Cr). Surpassing his career best by double the margin for any actor, and this speaks volumes about Sivakarthikeyan’s rising popularity.
Amaran will surely end up grossing over Rs 275 crore and may even aim to enter the Rs 300 crore club depending on Suriya’s Kanguvacs box office performance. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran is produced by Kamal Haasan, R Mahendran, and Vivek Krishnan. GV Prakash Kumar’s soundtrack was one of the major highlights of Amaran.
