Only a handful of actors will have the guts to say they didn’t perform well. One such statement from one of the greatest actors in the country, Aamir Khan, has left the netizens in shock. The Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood recently participated in a podcast held by Rhea Chakraborty, during which he spoke about the failures of Laal Singh Chaddha and Thugs Of Hindustan.

Referring to Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan said, “Its failure was a significant emotional blow. Mujhe bohot bada dhakka mila (The failure hit me hard). The team’s immense dedication and passion for the project made the disappointment even more profound. The writing of the original film (Forrest Gump) was not for the mainstream, but Tom Hanks pulled it off with his brilliant portrayal. My performance has let down Laal Singh Chaddha. This is my observation, and I learned a lot from it.”

Aamir Khan also said, “Laal Singh Chaddha helped me to perform well in my next film, Sitaare Zameen Par. When Thugs of Hindostan was made, mujhe bhi theek nahi lagi thi (I too didn’t find it good). I discussed the same with my team but they were satisfied with the output. We went wrong with that one. Though we had different opinions, ultimately the film fell short of expectations. Coming to Sitaare Zameen Par, I enjoyed working in it. Bahoot kamaal ki film hai (It’s an excellent film).”

During this whole conversation, an interesting fact about Laal Singh Chaddha was also revealed. Initially, Rhea Chakraborty gave an audition for the female lead role. Though the actress did well in the audition, the team went ahead with Kareena Kapoor for unknown reasons. Later, Aamir Khan sent a heartfelt note to Rhea, mentioning that the actress did an impressive job in the audition.
