Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 seems unstoppable at the box office currently. The movie, directed by Amar Kaushik, has struck a chord with the audience and is the all-time top 2 opener of Hindi cinema. Even after a fantastic first weekend, the film didn’t slow down on the weekdays and continued its remarkable run. Stree 2 recorded the highest second-weekend collections (93 crores nett) in Bollywood history.
There will generally be a considerable drop after the holiday season, but the horror comedy collected in double-digits on its day 13, proving its stamina. With Wednesday’s collections, the movie surpassed the lifetime Hindi version collections of the mega-blockbuster KGF 2 (435 crores nett). As of now, Stree 2 has collected over 442 crore nett in India, and now all eyes are on its lifetime business.
Despite heavy rainfall in many parts of North India, the mega entertainer is holding its ground. From here, 500 crores nett is a cakewalk. Also it will be easy for this horror film to overtake the lifetime numbers of Animal, Pathaan, and Gadar 2 in India.
But we need to see if this Shraddha Kapoor starrer can cross SRK’s industry hit Jawan, which earned around 593 crores nett (Hindi version) in India. Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurrana played vital roles in Stree 2. Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan played cameos.
