It’s been 20 years since Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s Arya has hit the screens. The classic love tale has left a massive impact on the movie-buffs. A grand event was conducted in Hyderabad to celebrate this special occasion in which the entire team participated. At the event, Sukumar revealed that he was initially asked to direct a remake film, to which he said no.
Sukumar said, “After giving multiple narrations, I thought Arya won’t materialize. I also started working on another script. But Bunny was very much determined to do this film as he loved the script. He was just 18 at that time, but he identified the script’s potential. Allu Arjun is the reason for what I am today.”
Sukumar added, “I wanted the best technicians and told the same to Dil Raju Garu. He provided me with whatever I asked for. After listening to the narration for the first half, DSP immediately gave the tune for the Feel My Love song. To be honest, it wasn’t my idea to include an item song in the film. Aa Ante Amalapuram song got a humongous reach.”
Sukumar further said, “People have a notion that directors would have a lot of attitude. That’s not true. There will be a lot of compromises in the industry. I compromised a lot to achieve the desired product. I might get frustrated at times. Whatever I do, it is for the sake of the film. Directors will face a lot of hurdles in the industry. I want the aspiring directors to take note of this aspect.”
