Kriti Kharbanda, last seen in the Hindi film 14 Phere, and known to Telugu audiences for her role in Pawan Kalyan’s Teenmaar, recently shared a heartfelt note as she completed 15 years in the film industry.
While many may not know, Kriti made her debut in the Telugu film Boni, co-starring Sumanth. Despite the film’s failure at the box office, Kriti’s journey in the industry has been remarkable. Taking to her Instagram, she reminisced about an unforgettable incident from the early days of her career, highlighting her transformation from an actress to a star.
She wrote, “I used to run a boutique with my mum since my teenage years. We spent a lot of time shopping, designing, and picking out fabrics. A few days after the release of my Kannada movie Googly, we were out in a mall. I entered a store as usual, and everything was fine. But when I exited, I realized there were hundreds of people outside the store. I looked up and saw people standing around the aisle, staring down at me. I didn’t understand what was happening until the crowd started chanting ‘Doctree! Doctree!’ I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears! I was so overwhelmed that I held my dad’s arm and said, ‘Let’s go to the parking, Dad, we need to leave!’ That was the day I realized the power of cinema and our industry. My journey from being a teenager to an actor and then a star happened so quickly, I was afraid to blink. Soon after this, life changed.”
She continued, “A big thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey-my family, my siblings, my husband, and my friends -but most of all, the people who offered me work and believed in my talent, and the fans who kept me going with their love. Thank you for trusting me to entertain you, for watching my movies, and for believing in me.” On the professional front, Kriti, known for her role in Housefull 4, is likely to appear alongside Rana Daggubati in an upcoming movie. More details about the project will be revealed soon.
