In the next two weeks, two crazy films from Tollywood and Kollywood are hitting the big screens in a week’s gap. They are Natural Star Nani’s Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT. Both are full-on action films laced with family elements and emotions. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, directed by Vivek Athreya, arrives on 29th August, while The GOAT, helmed by Venkat Prabhu, releases on 5th September.
These movies have now wrapped up their censor formalities and received a U/A certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Interestingly, both these action films have close to 3 hours of runtime. The approved runtime of The GOAT is 2 hours and 59 minutes, whereas it is 2 hours and 50 minutes for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.
The Saripodhaa Sanivaaram team believes that the movie requires more time for storytelling since it is an action film with a cute love story. The team released a funny video revealing the runtime in which Nani himself makes fun of his flop film Ante Sundaraniki, which was also directed by Vivek Athreya. It seems the makers initially wanted to have a duration of 2 hours and 35 minutes but later added another 15 minutes.
On the other hand, The GOAT team is highly confident about the film’s success, and they appear not to be worried about the length. Tollywood and Kollywood badly want these films to perform well at the ticket counters, and let’s see what happens. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and The GOAT will release in multiple Indian languages.
