Akshay Kumar is one of the stars who is not in great form in his career currently. His three releases this year Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and the recent Raksha Bandhan disappointed big time by failing to cross the 100-crore mark. Meanwhile, the actor is getting ready with yet another film titled Cuttputlli which is scheduled for direct OTT release on September 2nd.

The news is that the makers have struck a huge 125 crore deal with Disney Plus Hotstar network for the digital rights of the film. Akshay Kumar’s Laxmii and Atrangi Re were also sold to the same platform and both these movies were the highest watched ones at the time of their releases. Hence the platform offered such a hefty deal.

Rakul Preet Singh is the female lead in this film which is the official remake of the Tamil blockbuster Ratsasan. It is directed by Ranjit M Tewari who also directed the actor’s Bell Bottom. We need to see if the film matches the intensity of the original version.
