Sandalwood star Upendra’s recently released social satire, UI, has emerged as a big hit. The film’s collections are witnessing an encouraging hike, with day 3’s collections higher than the day 2 and day 1 numbers. The film is braving Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 and is doing well in the twin Telugu states.

Addressing the media during the success tour in Vijayawada earlier today, Upendra thanked his fans across the twin Telugu states for making UI a huge success. “Telugu people still remember and cherish my movies like A and Upendra, which were released over 20 years ago. I thank everyone for showering the same love and affection on UI,” said Uppi Dada.

He went on to say that UI is a different film and that audiences are the real stars in this movie. “I believed in people and made UI. I rarely direct movies, but seeing your emphatic response, I feel like directing more movies in the future,” said the acclaimed actor-filmmaker. UI has sold over 400K tickets so far on BookMyShow. UI has been produced by G Manoharan and KP Srikanth under the Lahari Films and Venus Entertainers banners. Naveen Manoharan is the co-producer, while Geetha Arts released the film in Telugu.
