Balagam, starring Priyadarshi and Kavya Kalyanram, is easily one of the best films to have come out from Tollywood. The rural emotional drama marked the directorial debut of comedian Venu Yeldandi. The director was lauded for the way he depicted Telangana culture. Venu’s second directorial is titled Yellamma, and Dil Raju is the producer. The film was supposed to be spearheaded by Natural Star Nani.
However, according to reports, Nani is said to have turned down the film as he didn’t like the final draft. At the pre-release event of Janaka Aithe Ganaka, Dil Raju asked Venu when the project would go on floors. Venu said, “Sir, you should decide that. If you want, I can start the film right away. Sir, can we start the shoot in November?”
Dil Raju answered, “No, no. Let’s commence the filming in February 2025.” According to the grapevine in film circles, the makers decided to cast Nithiin as the protagonist after Nani refused to be part of the film. It is being said that the team has already initiated talks with Nithiin, and we need to see whether or not the Bheeshma actor would greenlit Venu’s script.
