Director Vignesh Shivan, husband of actress Nayanthara, has been in the spotlight recently for various controversies. The first involved a dispute with actor Dhanush over the use of clips from his films in Vignesh and Nayanthara’s wedding documentary. Now, he has made headlines again, this time for a different reason.
Rumours have been circulating that Vignesh Shivan is attempting to acquire the Seagulls Hotel, a government property in Pondicherry, and has been meeting officials about it. These speculations quickly gained traction and sparked widespread attention.
However, Vignesh Shivan has now addressed the issue, clarifying the real reason for his visit to Pondicherry. In an Instagram post, he wrote:
“I had gone to Pondicherry to visit the airport and secure shooting permission for my film Love Insurance Kompany. As a matter of respect and courtesy, I met the Honourable Chief Minister and the Honourable Tourism Minister. Unexpectedly, the local manager who accompanied me inquired about something for himself after my meeting, and that has been mistakenly linked to me. The memes, videos, and jokes created were really funny and inspiring, yet unnecessary! Hence, I wanted to clarify this. Thank you.”
With this statement, Vignesh Shivan has put an end to the rumors and clarified his position on the matter.
