Allari Naresh is ready with his new film Itlu Maredumalli Prajaaneekam which has hit the screens today. Let’s see how the film turns out to be.
Story:
Srinivas(Allari Naresh) is a Telugu teacher who is sent to Marudemalli forest area to conduct elections. After landing there, he comes to know the pathetic situation of the villagers who are struggling for basic facilities. He then makes a plan and joins their fight against the government. How does he manage to fulfil his goal is the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
Allari Naresh is selecting some interesting films and once again gives a sincere performance in this movie. He as a sincere Telugu teacher does well and plays his role with utmost perfection. Heroine Anandi looks beautiful and has given a settled performance.
Vennela Kishore once again saves the film with his act. His dialogue delivery, mannerisms and funny antics can never go wrong. He holds the first half in an interesting manner. Actor Shritej gets a meaty role and he was quite impressive.
Sampath as the collector and Praveen as the village guy do their parts well. The climax of the film has been handled on an impressive note. The film has arresting visuals and the locations chosen are amazing.
The second half has some good emotions. The small twist that is brought during the break time and how it is carried forward has been handled decently. The plight of the villagers who live in forest areas has nicely been showcased by the director.
Minus Points:
Itlu Maredumalli Prajaaneekam has a very old school storyline. Multiple films have been made on such issues in the past and this film is no different. The first half starts on an interesting note and the interval bang is also gripping.
But things start bothering in the second half as the solution showcased is not that gripping. The narrative is decent but a more volatile solution with the issue would have made matters better.
The entire police force in the area cannot handle 300 people in a village. Even the military which is brought in goes back. This looks silly and shows the weakness in the plot.
The director should have brought in more ideas from the government to handle the villagers. Such small issues hinder the proceedings a bit. In a way, the conflict point should have been elevated more.
Technical Aspects:
Production values of the film are top notch. The makers have not compromised one bit with the visuals which are arresting. The camera work and production design is amazing. Music of the film is good but the BGM was even better. Editing is neat.
Coming to the director Mohan, he has done a passable job with the film. Though he has taken an old subject, he has narrated it on a sincere note. His casting, backdrop and scenes are good but there is nothing novel that he has showcased. He made the film with good moments but the conflict should have been handled on a gripping manner.
Verdict:
On the whole, Itlu Maredumalli Prajaaneekam is a film made with honesty. The backdrop, performances and scenes are decent but there is nothing new or gripping that you will see here. The film has passable moments and will be liked by those who like serious issue based dramas.
