Young actor Naga Shourya, is riding high with two back to back hits. After the success of Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, he is now back with Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki. Directed by Nandyala Ravi, this romantic entertainer has hit the screens today. Let’s now see how it is.
Story:
Anand Rao (Rao Ramesh), is the head of Lakshmi Nilayam and is a very strict father. After his daughter Lakshmi(Avika Gor) completes her studies, he gets her engaged to a software engineer.
On the other hand, Sai (Naga Shourya) happens to see Lakshmi and falls flat for her. He directly meets her and expresses his love. But he gets a huge shock when Lakshmi tells him that she is already engaged. What will Sai do now ? Will he continue to woo Lakshmi ? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
To start with, Raj Tarun’s voice over when he introduces all the characters is pretty good. The first 40 minutes of the film is engaging and entertaining. The interval episode is also impressive. Coming to the performances, young hero Naga Shourya has given a mature performance than his previous films. He looks handsome and enacts quite convincingly. For the first time, this lover boy has tried action sequences and he is quite impressive with his fights. Avika Gor looks gorgeous in Indian attire and has given a commanding performance.
Rao Ramesh gives a decent performance as the strict father. Sapthagiri’s comedy track is also a major plus for this film. Rest of the cast like Vennela Kishore, Naresh, Pragathi, Venu and Satyam Rajesh were good in their respective roles.
Minus Points:
After the first 40 minutes, the film gets stuck and moves at a snails pace till the interval episode. Post interval, the entire second half is dead slow as the story goes haywire. Most of the second half seems to have been inspired from the Ram starrer ‘Ganesh’.
The director included a fight sequence in the climax, which was completely unnecessary. There are many logical errors in the film and the climax lacks clarity. Most of the film is highly predictable and nothing new has been offered through its story line.
Technical Aspects:
Bala Reddy’s cinematography is superb as every frame looks grand and beautiful. He has showcased the beauty of Vizag quite well. K.M.Radhakrishna’s music is good, but his background score lacks consistency. Editing of the film is poor, as most of the film wanders here and there. The production values of the film are rich. Debutante director Nandyala Ravi has handled his characters well but his screenplay during the second half misfires and goes for a toss.
Verdict:
On the whole, ‘Lakshmi Raave Ma Intiki’ is just an below average entertainer which is good only in bits and pieces. The entertaining first half, energetic performances of Naga Shourya and Avika Gor are the major plus points. On the flip side, a slow paced second half and a flat climax spoil the fun completely.
