Nandamuri Balakrishna has played a triple role for the first time in his career in the film ‘Adhinayakudu’ and Lakshmi Rai is the heroine in the movie. The film has been produced on Keerthi Combines banner by M.L.Kumar Chowdhary and Kalyani Malik has scored the music. The movie completed its shoot a long time ago but has not been released till now because of certain issues. Let us see how the film is.

Story :

Bobby (Balakrishna) is a Mumbai based professional killer who fights against injustice. On coming to know that a jailed criminal known as Ramappa (Pradeep Rawat) is planning to assassinate his father Rama Krishna Prasad (Balakrishna) , Bobby comes to Andhra Pradesh in a bid to save his father. But once he gets home, Rama Krishna Prasad refuses to treat him like a son and agrees to let Bobby stay in his home only after much persuasion from family members. Assassination of senior Rayalamseema leader Harischandra Prasad (Balakrishna) is planned by rival faction leaders Ramappa (Pradeep Rawat) and Kota Srinivasa Rao. What happens next? That forms the story

Plus Points :

Balakrishna looks extremely nice in the character of Harischandra Prasad. He gives a controlled performance and he has some super sharp dialogues. Even though the length of this character is small, it delivers the maximum impact. His performance as Rama Krishna Prasad is good too. The first fight, which takes place in a minister’s house, is good.

Lakshmi Rai has done complete justice to her role and she looks ultra glamorous. Saloni is present in just one song but she makes an impact. The comedy sequences between Balakrishna and Brahmanandam are very nice and Brahmi brings a lot of smiles with his super performance. Jayasudha is impressive.

Kota and Pradeep Rawat are good. Aditya Menon and Sukanya have done well in their limited roles. The songs ‘Oorantha’, ‘Olammi’ are good and have been shot well.

Minus Points :

The director did not take care of Balakrishna’s character of Bobby. The wigs look very bad and same is the case with costumes. The length of Brahmanandam’s comedy track should have been trimmed towards the end as it does not have the brilliance of the initial stages.

Venu Madhav’s comedy track is silly. The emotional struggle between Rama Krishna Prasad and Bobby has not been captured well and the audience will not connect emotionally with this.

Screenplay is bad and the narration is not upto the mark.

Technical Aspects :

Balakrishna’s dialogues have been written very well and they will delight fans. Cinematography is just about ok and there is nothing great. Production values are just about average and they are not rich. Editing by Kotagiri is ok.

Verdict :

Adhinayakudu will attract fans completely as they will be delighted by the whistle inducing dialogues and some super scenes involving Balakrishna as the old man. For regular movie lovers, it is a decent treat. Adhinayakudu can be viewed as a weekend masala flick
