Broker 2 is the sequel of the 2010 R P Patnaik film Broker. Starring Posani Krishna Murali, this political drama which is directed and produced by Maddineni Ramesh has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Devudu (Posani Krishna Murali) is a broker, who acts as a mediator between the politicians and public, who seek favors from leaders. One fine day, he helps Subhash Chandra Bose (Banerjee) in donning the Chief Minister’s post, and becomes his close aid.

On the other hand, Kasthuri (Sneha) is a young girl who gets raped by four guys, who lure her with a job opportunity. After this dreaded incident, Kasturi becomes closer to Devudu, and in the process also gets engaged to him.

Twist in the tale comes when some unintended consequences, force Kasturi to become a high profile prostitute. What made Kasturi to take such a daring decision ? What will Devudu do now ?

To know the answers to all these questions, you need to watch the film on silver screen.

Plus Points:

Posani Krishna Murali performed well in his usual style. The way he mouthed some lengthy dialogues is also quite good. Female lead Sneha was highly impressive with her performance. Her expressions were awesome, especially in the emotional scenes.

All the other actors like Banerjee, Jeeva performed OK. The story line of the film is impressive, and explains about present day politics which have just become a business.

Minus Points:

From the word go, audience will feel over board in every scene. It feels like the director had written something else, than what he actually executed on screen.

He took a few problems in the society like rape, land acquisition, bribery etc and tried to put them as a film. He failed miserably and ended up making a film which looks like a news bulletin with crime stories.

There are many scenes in the film which are unnecessary. Almost every scene has been dragged to its core, and gives headache to audience.

Climax is the worst part of the film. Even though it is an anticipated climax, the director dragged it to almost 10 to 15 minutes extra.

Technical Aspects:

Songs for a film like this are not necessary. But the director had inducted songs just to drag the run time. Dialogues are cheesy and too lengthy.

Venkat was below average with his cinematography, as few scenes gave an impression that you are seeing a short film of low quality. Editing of the film is poor as many scenes could have been simply chopped off.

As said early, producer Maddineni Ramesh who is testing his directorial skills has failed miserably. Even though, he had a decent story line, he failed in executing it completely.

Verdict:

The 2010 release Broker, was critically acclaimed for its message and content, but Broker 2 has absolutely nothing to boast off. It looks like a C grade film which revolves mostly around prostitution. You can safely stay away from this film, even when it comes on TV.
