Now a days, it has become quite routine that we get to see low budget movies releasing every week. ‘Teeyani Kalavo’ is yet another low budget flick which has released today. Akhil Karthik, Sri Teja, Hudasha play lead roles in this love story, which is directed by Shivaji. Let us now see how the film is.
Story:
Ajay (Sri Teja) meets Geetha (Hudasha) in a train, and falls in love at the first sight. When he tries to take her phone number his attempt goes in vain. However, few days later, they both join the same college and in the same class.
Day by day, Ajay develops more love towards Geetha, but she never shows interest in him. One fine day, Ajay comes to know that Geetha was already in love with a rock star called Karthik (Akhill Karthik) and even got engaged to him.
Rest of the story as to how Ajay manages to win Geetha’s heart, who already had a heavy heartbreak. in the past.
Plus Points:
Hudusha, looks impressive with her performance in her debut film. She is very good, especially in the emotional scenes. Akhil Karthik who plays the character of a rock star is OK with his acting, but he should be careful with his dialogue delivery.
Comedy episodes in this film are pretty good. Jabardasth fame Sudheer, Racha Ravi, Phani and Chanti provide much needed relief to the audience.
Senior actors like Chandramohan, Kashi Vishwanath, Shivaji Raja, Sudha have done justice to their roles. The comedy scenes between Chandramohan and Sudha are also good.
Minus Points:
Coming to minus Points, we need to talk about the other hero Sri Teja. Even though he is good looking, he has failed with his expressions and body language.
Music has to be the backbone for all the love stories, but in this film, there is not even one song which catches the eye of audience. Viewers get irritated to the core whenever a song splashes on the screen.
College scenes which come in the first half, were dragged to the core. Unnecessary lengthy dialogues make things even more worse. Director has written a screenplay, which made the audience guess every scene in advance.
Second half is slower than the first half, and has many routine comedy scenes.
Technical Aspects:
Cinematographer has done justice to his job, and shows the film in a good light. Editor should have concentrated more on the first half and could have easily chopped off many unwanted scenes.
As said earlier, music in this film is miserable and so is the background score. Not even a single song is impressive.
Director Shivaji failed in executing the routine love story in any interesting way. If he would have maintained good pace in the screenplay, he could have had some relief.
Verdict:
‘Teeyani Kalavo’ is a bitter and boring plot to the core. Except for a few comedy scenes, there is absolutely nothing in the film and is quite routine and cliché. Without thinking much, you can safely skip this movie this weekend.
