Small film Sodara Sodarimanulara, directed by Raghupathi Reddy Gunda and starring Kamal Kamaraju, has hit theaters today. Delve into our review to know how the movie fares.

Story:

Raju (Kamal Kamaraju) is a cab driver trying to make a living. One day, he picks up a highly intoxicated woman from a remote pub but finds her dead during the ride. The police suspect Raju’s involvement and arrest him. Who is this woman? Did Raju have anything to do with her death? The movie uncovers these mysteries and Raju’s fate.

Plus Points:

Kamal Kamaraju delivers a subtle and fitting performance in his role of a cab driver.

Prabhakar, known for his Kalakeya role in Baahubali, shines as a greedy and fierce policeman, offering a commendable performance.

The remaining cast, including Aparna Devi, Prithvi, Padma Rao, and Sunitha Manohar, performed adequately.

Minus Points:

While the director’s intentions are noteworthy, the execution falls short, resulting in a dragged and unengaging screenplay.

Aparna Devi’s character could have been better developed to portray her struggle in fighting for her husband, and Prithiviraj’s portrayal as an MLA lacks impact.

Kalakeya Prabhakar’s role is alright, but it could have been further explored to make the storyline more interesting.

The film has plot holes as well. And its lengthy duration, exceeding two hours, is a significant drawback.

Technical Aspects:

Debutant director Raghupathi Reddy falls short in both writing and direction, failing to engage the audience effectively.

In terms of music, cinematography, and editing, there is room for improvement, as these aspects could have contributed to making the movie more compelling.

Verdict:

On the whole, Sodara Sodarimanulara disappoints with its weak narrative and unengaging screenplay. Kamal Kamaraju’s performance stands out, but apart from that, the movie has too little to discuss about.
