Continuing the trend of low-budget films, yet another unique project which has hit the screens today is ‘Wish You A Happy Break Up’. Let’s see how this film turns out to be.

Story:-

Naresh(Uday Kiran) is an aspiring filmmaker who wants to make it big in Tollywood. He tries hard but ends up failing many times. Seeing his horrible situation, Naresh’s girlfriend dumps him and settles with someone else. Rest of the story is as to how Naresh deals with his breakup and makes it big in the industry.

Plus Points:-

One of the biggest plus points is the way the film has been narrated in certain scenes. As the hero is an aspiring filmmaker, he keeps shooting his daily routine and problems all the time. The way these videos have been cleverly used in the narration is pretty interesting.

Uday Kiran does well in his role and gives an honest performance. Tejaswini shines in a small role and the episode featuring her has been shot well and looks convincing.

Minus Points:-

As the story of the film is quite weak, there is nothing much for the makers to showcase. The basic emotion is missing and all the scenes that have been showcased are just like different episodes of the hero’s daily life.

The message that has been given in the climax looks forced and does not have any value. Some scenes featuring hero’s friends become boring after a point. Some jokes that have been written on women go overboard during the first half.

Technical Aspects:-

Director Kiran Rao had an interesting concept and narrated the film well in certain scenes. But the lack of basic emotions and interesting turning points during crunch situations destroy this film completely. Camerawork and production values are pretty good. Music was a drawback and so was the screenplay.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Wish You A Happy Break Up is an innovative approach towards filmmaking in Tollywood. But the basic emotions which are required for a feature film are completely missing in this film. Except for some few comedy episodes and Tejaswini’s appearance, this film has nothing much to offer.
