Over the past four days, Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated film Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, has dominated the box office. The movie has grossed over Rs. 621 crore worldwide, becoming the fastest Indian film to achieve this milestone.
However, Pushpa 2 faced criticism for its unusually high ticket prices in the Telugu states. Benefit show tickets in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana (TS) were sold at exorbitant rates of Rs. 800–Rs. 1,000. Even after the benefit shows, ticket prices remained high throughout the opening weekend. In many single screens, ticket rates exceeded Rs. 300, making it challenging for a significant portion of the audience to watch the film on the big screen.
Starting today, ticket prices have been reduced across most areas in AP and TS, bringing relief to moviegoers. For single screens, tickets are now priced at Rs. 200 in both states, while multiplex tickets cost Rs. 395 in Telangana and Rs. 300 in Andhra Pradesh. Prices may vary slightly depending on the location and theater chain.
This reduction makes the movie more accessible to a larger audience, potentially increasing footfalls and boosting collections further. With this adjustment, the magic of Pushpa 2 is expected to captivate audiences in Telugu states for many more days.
